Welcome to www.AmericanGetOutdoors.com.  We’re excited you’ve stopped by our website.  This website will be dedicated to all the things we love to do in the great outdoors, gardening, cooking, camping, fishing, hunting, archery, shooting accuracy, firearms training, campfires and s’mores.

We want to share our knowledge and adventures with our readers.

We are Tom and Jan, and have recently retired; Tom from 48 years in law enforcement, and Jan with 45 years as an administrative professional.  Jan is the organizer and Tom has street smarts, extensive knowledge and practical experience in hunting, shooting, and firearms training and safety. We both love fishing, nature walks, tracking wildlife and learning to live with them. Tom is an excellent cook and Jan is a great fan of food, willing to try anything he makes.  (He even had me eating rattlesnake in Nevada!)  We retired in October 2022 and moved from Nevada to Arkansas. We’ve been getting settled in ever since.

We purchased several acres in the Ozark Mountains and have been creating our home here.  We are outdoors most days, weather permitting.

We hope you like our website and will stop in often to read our posts and blogs.  We have started a new business adventure with Amazon as an Amazon Associate.  We will be posting recommendations of products we love and hope you like them too.
